On my contents page there will be a lot of colour, so that it feel friendly and casual. There will be a brick/graffeti kind of background that will make it look young and quite rebelious. The Font will be rounded like Comic sans, Calabri, or Verdana and not sharp and angular like times new roman or Courier. This rounded effect will give off a laid-back kind of image to the readers and make the whole magazine feel more relaxed.
On the cover there will be a lot of images so that the reader will be able to see whats in the magazine without having to read to much about it. So they might see a picture of someone they've not seen before and think that an article is in the magazine about a new artist. Or they might see some different album covers and think that there will be some album reviews or the top 20 albums. I want to make the magazine seem quite easy to read, not a lot of writing, but not so little that the audience of my magazine will feel immature and not so clever. On the top left hand corner there will be a picture of the front cover, this will be easier as instead of having to turn back to the cover to see if there is a story they want to read, they'd be able to look at it in the corner of the page. Next to the picture of the front cover there will be the cover stories list. So that they can easily look on the cover picture and then back to the contents list of the cover stories and then be able to turn to that page.
Under all the headings of the contents there will be a small sentence to describe what the page will be about. So for example one of the headings is 'I met. . .' then underneath this heading it says 'Write in your own stories of musicans that you have met!' This is a part of the magazine that the readers controll, and I think that readers will like that. They have a say at what people and pictures of them will go into the magazine. Also in the bottom Left cornere there will be a small note from the editor, this will make the magazine feel more personal from the readers point of view, because they note will talk about the readers and thank them on their different suggestions. There will also be an e-mail, twitter and facebook link at the bottom of the page so that the readers can e-mail, facebook or tweet in what kind of things they would like to be reading or seeing in the next weeks issue.
I find that this contents page will attract our younger audience because of the colourful yet rebelious colours. I also think that the e-mail, facebook and twitter link at the bottom is something they can relate to as well because now days it's all about the technology and social sites, but if we were doing a magazine for older audiences we might have put in an address they can write to as well. So that those who might not be up to date with the newer technology could still have a say in what they wanted.
